James Greer
Who am I, Music, Veteran, Radio, The Future
James Greer is a filmmaker, digital media content creator, radio personality on 93.5 KWDC Stockton, recording artist, songwriter, and Navy veteran from northern California, who has been performing since the age of sixteen. His early career began in high school when he was a member of an acapella group called ‘One Way touring California. After high school, he decided to sever his country by joining the United States Navy where he severed on the USS Georgia SSBN 729 nucellar ballistic submarine. After the Navy, he finally hit the big stage at the Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles thanks to an encounter with legendary rapper MC Hammer. He was honored to perform at the same venue as some of the greats he had admired, such as Enrique Iglesias, Will Smith, and Ricky Martin.
James traveled the world under the stage name JD Greer from 1999 to 2012 during which time he refined his craft in many different studios across the country. During a showcase at Universal Republic Records, in 2007, CEO Monte Lipman praised JD for his voice. He noted that JD’s showcase was the best he had seen in a long time. His performance there was instrumental in helping his label, at the time, FullBlast Records, land a recording deal with Universal Republic records.

Since 2012, James has been considered for Grammy Award Nominations for multiple songs, namely in the ‘Song of the Year’ category. His song, ‘Never Alone,’ which is near and dear to his heart, and ‘Tell Me,’ Which he collaborated with Five-Time Grammy Nominated Jazz Artist; Aaron Bing was among them.

Also in 2012, James was featured on the cover of ‘Hype’ magazine. His interview was insightful and gave his fans an inside look into his life, motivations, and career. Also, in 2014, JD was featured in an article in ‘Most Influential Magazine’. In the inspirational article, about his life and career, he bears his soul for the world to see and never looks back.
In his career, there was one moment that stood out from the rest. It was on August 9th, 2013, when James was selected to sing the National Anthem before the Oakland Raiders game. As a life-long Raiders fan, who served in the United States Armed Forces, he honored his country that evening with a heart-wrenching rendition in front of Fifty-Three thousand fans in attendance. He also sang it for the Raiders in 2014, and 2015 and was honored alongside his father in 2019 for their military during halftime...

James graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with an AA degree in Digital Media with an emphasis in audio and video. James is currently attending the University of the Pacific where he is majoring in their Media X program with a minor in film studies.
